Crescent Mirror
Crescent Mirror
Crescent Mirror is a commemorative piece celebrating Crescent, the public sculpture I was commissioned to make for the Lamorinda Muslim Community Center (LMCC) for display March 1-21, in Lafayette Plaza in downtown Lafayette, the first cultural display following Lafayette City Council’s unanimous vote to allow them. This was also the Bay Area’s first public display honoring the Muslim community.
Crescent celebrates the roundness of the moon, while celebrating the passage of time through the sliver that grows as days go by. I etched a few shapes in the pattern on the back of the mirror as a reminder of the unseen order in the universe.
With each purchase of this commemorative mirror, 80% of the price will be donated to support LMCC. Available only by pre-order, with delivery in 6 weeks.
About 18" diameter, made of plywood and acrylic, 2026
